Alexandru (Alex) Chiriac

Lead Solutions Architect

The story

Alex Chiriac is Lead Solutions Architect at Quant. He supported Quant’s DLT research from 2017 through UCL’s Centre for Blockchain Technologies and joined full-time in 2018 — the year of the Overledger whitepaper. Before Quant he was a Labs Executive at London Blockchain Labs, working on Ethereum smart contracts for e-notary publics.

He led the XRP Ledger connector for Overledger V1 and later the integration of Corda, Hyperledger Fabric and Polkadot under the Overledger umbrella. He is a listed author of the IETF SATP core draft, affiliation Quant Network. Quant’s people page also credits him with architecting delivery on UK Finance’s Regulated Liability Network, graph-analysis work on blockchain traceability for HMRC, and a Corda interoperability pilot for SIA S.p.A.

Quant’s June 2023 note says the company was on the vendor team for Project Rosalind — a BIS Innovation Hub London / Bank of England retail-CBDC API experiment — providing infrastructure and ledger interoperability while UST built the frontend API layer. The BIS page is explicit that Rosalind is not BoE policy. Those are documented delivery credits. This encyclopedia does not treat them as a current Quant–BIS joint programme on the Basel pin.
