Washington is the US official-sector pin: tokenised deposits, possible digital-dollar research, GENIUS-era stablecoin legislation as cited in Verdian’s three-layer essay. Overledger can sit in front of a wholesale CBDC or a commercial-bank token. That does not make every US deployment a CBDC stack.

A CBDC is a liability of the central bank. GBTD tokens are liabilities of Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Nationwide and Santander. Quant was selected to provide the programmable-money infrastructure — Overledger and PayScript — not to issue the money. The future-of-money move is making commercial-bank money programmable without pretending it is central-bank money.

Did you know Overledger is not a twelfth blockchain?
The 2018 whitepaper’s whole point is single-ledger dependency. Overledger maps a request onto Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, a bank core, or all of them. If the future of money is many ledgers and many rails, the scarce resource is a gateway OS, not another validator set.
